Pensioners with allotments are mentally healthier

An article in the Daily Mail reported on new medical research which showed that pensioners with allotments were physically and mentally healthier than those without.

Results showed that those who spent time outdoors, exercising and having something to focus on coped better with the physical and mental effects of aging.

Those with allotments were found to do the equivalent of an extra day of physical activity a week over the summer.

How much more benefit does looking after a whole garden afford?
